Introduction of Acupoints
Analysis of Etiology and Pathology
[Analysis 1]: According to “The Golden Mirror”: “Rosacea occurs on the tip of the nose and its sides. Stomach fire invades the lungs, and there is external cold exposure. At first, the blood coagulates and turns red, and over time, it turns purple and black. Relieve the stagnation and activate the blood stasis, and the patient will gradually recover.” Note: This condition occurs on the tip of the nose and both sides of the nose. Due to stomach fire attacking the lungs and being bound by wind externally, the blood stasis and coagulation occur. So it first turns red, then purple, and finally turns black over time. It is extremely persistent.
Treatment Experience of the Ancients

Medical Cases
[Case 1]: Mr. Yu, 32 years old, from Hebei Province, lived in Taipei City, Taiwan Province. He suffered from redness and swelling of the nasal tip, which had spread to both cheekbones, and there were small blood blisters all over. Once touched, or when blowing the nose or washing the face, if the blisters were broken, bloody water would flow out. This had lasted for three years. Introduced by his colleague Mr. Cao, in the autumn of the 42nd year of the Republic of China, he asked for diagnosis and treatment. The small blood blisters were pricked with a triangular needle to let out the bloody water. After more than a month of successive needling, he gradually recovered.
[Case 2]: Ms. Yu, 38 years old, from Shandong Province, lived in Lane 73, Andong Street. She had suffered from redness and swelling of the nasal tip for several years. She felt extremely uncomfortable in the nose, and it affected the discomfort of the whole face. Once there was friction, bloody water would flow out. Although she sought medical treatment and took medicine everywhere, all were ineffective. On August 28, the 57th year of the Republic of China, she came to seek treatment. After being treated with the above method several times, she was cured.

[Explanation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Disease Name]: Rosacea: (The character “皶” is pronounced as lú in Chinese pinyin). It is a disease name. The patient has bright red spots on the nose and its surrounding area, which gradually turn dark red. There are countless tiny blood vessels distributed on it, and nodules and ulcers are formed. Sebaceous gland secretions can be squeezed out from the nodules. It can be treated with tetracycline. In modern medicine, it is called “rosacea”. Since the tip of the nose is bright red and looks like wine dregs, it is called “red nose, brandy nose, nasal redness”, and is also known as “acne rosacea”. This condition mostly occurs in middle-aged people aged 30 to 50, with more women than men. However, the condition in men is more severe than that in women, and the onset is also earlier. Rosacea is not exclusive to heavy drinkers. People with well-developed sebaceous glands are all likely to suffer from this disease. Although rosacea often occurs in heavy drinkers, it is not exclusive to those who like drinking. The cause of rosacea has not been determined yet. Usually, it is more likely to be triggered in situations such as heavy drinking, often eating spicy and other irritating foods, suffering from skin diseases, endocrine disorders, constipation, poor gastrointestinal function, indigestion, demodex parasitism, emotional excitement, and cold and hot stimulation. In addition, wearing heavy makeup for a long time and incomplete makeup removal can also cause local microvascular dilation and lead to rosacea. According to statistics, if there are people with rosacea in the family, the probability of suffering from this disease will also increase. The three stages of the onset of rosacea are “erythema, papules, and rhinophyma”. The occurrence sites of rosacea are mainly the tip of the nose and the alae nasi, followed by the cheeks, chin, and forehead, which are symmetrically distributed. The symptoms are mainly erythema, papules, pustules, and capillary dilation. It can be divided into three progressive stages according to the severity of the condition: (1) Erythema stage: When drinking alcohol, eating spicy, hot, and other irritating foods, or doing exercise, or having unstable emotions, the affected area will turn red. At first, it is temporary, and later it turns into a persistent state. (2) Papule stage: Or called the microvascular dilation stage, which is an aggravated symptom of the erythema stage. Red papules, and even nodules, appear at the affected area. (3) Rhinophyma stage: The papules expand, the sebaceous glands and connective tissues hyperplasia, forming tumor-like substances of different sizes, making the nose enlarged and deformed. The course of this disease develops slowly, sometimes mild and sometimes severe, and it may not be cured for many years. Therefore, once you feel that your face is particularly oily and your nose is red and enlarged, you should immediately consult a dermatologist. However, modern Western medicine has no specific treatment method for rosacea. The bloodletting therapy provided by Physician Sun Peirong, as long as proper disinfection is carried out, is indeed an effective and side-effect-free treatment method.
