Introduction of Acupoints
Tianzhu: Located in the depression on the outer edge of the large tendon in the posterior hairline of the neck.
Yanglao: Located one cun behind the wrist, in the depression above the ankle bone.
Taichong: Located about one cun above the gap between the big toe and the second toe of the foot, at the connection of the metatarsal bones.
Guangming: Located five cun above the lateral malleolus.

Luoque: Located one cun behind Baihui, one cun and five fen away from the midline.
Ganshu: Located below the ninth vertebra, one cun and five fen away from the spine.

Analysis of Etiology and Pathology
[Analysis 1]: “The Original Song of the Eyes” in “The Golden Mirror”: “Heaven has the essence of the sun and the moon, representing yin and yang. Humans have two eyes, which are the essence of the internal organs. The gathering place of all essences is called the eye. The essence of flesh forms the upper and lower eyelids. The essence of blood is in the two canthi, the essence of qi is in the white of the eye, the essence of tendons is in the black part of the eye, and the essence of bones is in the pupil. All these are connected and tied together, and their roots are related to the brain. The origin of the essence of the eyes should be clearly understood.” Note: Just as heaven has the sun and the moon, humans have two eyes. The sun and the moon in heaven are the essence of yin and yang in heaven. The two eyes of humans are also formed by the essence of the five internal organs and six bowels of the human body that is injected into the eyes. Therefore, the gathering place of all essences is the eye. The essence of flesh is the upper and lower eyelids, the essence of blood is the two canthi, the essence of qi is the white of the eye, the essence of tendons is the black part of the eye, and the essence of bones is the pupil. The essence of qi, blood, tendons, and bones are bound together, and their connections are related to the brain. This must be clearly understood, which is the origin of the essence of the eyes.
[Analysis 2]: The Song of Internal Causes of Diseases: “Internal obstructions are all caused by the excessive influence of the seven emotions, namely joy, anger, worry, thought, sorrow, fear, and surprise. The internal organs are damaged, and the essence cannot be injected into the eyes. At first, it is an internal obstruction, and over time, it turns into wind-related diseases.” Note: This clarifies the cause of internal obstruction diseases. An obstruction means something that blocks. An internal obstruction means that the blockage comes from within. The diseases of internal obstruction are all caused by excessive indulgence in the seven emotions. Excessive joy harms the heart, excessive anger harms the liver, excessive worry harms the lungs, excessive thought harms the spleen, excessive sorrow harms the heart, excessive fear harms the kidneys, and excessive surprise harms the gallbladder. The internal organs are damaged, and the essence qi cannot be injected into the eyes. So at the beginning, it is an internal obstruction disease, and over time, it turns into the five wind diseases, namely Black Wind, Green Wind, Black Green Wind, Yellow Wind, and Blue Wind. The symptoms are that the eyes are neither red nor swollen, the color of the pupil changes, and the eyes lose their light and vision.
The Song of External Causes of Diseases: “External obstructions are all caused by the six qi, namely summer heat, cold, dampness, dryness, fire, and wind. Internal causes attract external pathogens to enter through the gaps, following the meridians and reaching the head.” Note: This clarifies the cause of external obstruction diseases. An external obstruction means that the blockage comes from the outside. The six qi are wind, cold, summer heat, dampness, dryness, and fire. The diseases of external obstruction are all caused by the influence of the six excessive environmental factors. However, it must be because the person has internal heat and external steaming, and the skin texture is not dense, which attracts external pathogens to enter through the weakness. When it enters the nape, it belongs to the Taiyang Meridian; when it enters the face, it belongs to the Yangming Meridian; when it enters the cheek, it belongs to the Shaoyang Meridian. Each follows the connection of its respective meridian, reaches the head, and enters the brain, thus causing problems in the eyes. The symptoms are redness, pain, swelling, dryness, eye discharge, film covering the eyes, etc.
The Song of the Initial Stage of Internal Obstruction Transforming into the Five Wind Diseases over Time: “At the initial stage of internal obstruction, the eyes seem normal, but there are flowers floating when seeing things, as if in a misty smoke. There is a faint film-like appearance in the pupil, and the pupil loses its luster. Over time, it turns yellow, green, black, dark, and blue. Yellow Wind, which is night blindness at first, turns golden yellow over time. In Green Wind, white, flower-like, and red colors can be seen sometimes. There is dizziness, pain in the forehead, nose, and eyes. Black Wind is similar to Green Wind in the initial stage, but black flowers can be seen sometimes, and the pupil turns dark black over time. Dark Wind is also not different from Green Wind, but there is pain without dizziness, and dark flowers can be seen in front of the eyes, and the pupil turns dark with a reddish tint over time. Blue Wind is the same as Dark Wind in the initial stage, there is dizziness but no pain, and blue flowers can be seen in front of the eyes, and the pupil turns blue over time. The pupil turns yellow in Yellow Wind, which is related to the Spleen Meridian. The light green color like white in Green Wind is related to the Lung Meridian. The black color in Black Wind is related to the Kidney Meridian. The dark color with a reddish tint in Dark Wind is related to the Heart Meridian. Blue Wind belongs to the Liver Meridian. External causes include headache due to wind, which causes pain in the eyes. The heat of the brain fat is injected downwards, and suddenly the eyes lose their vision. Internal causes are due to the injury of the essence, and it cannot be injected into the eyes. The disease may spread from one eye to the other, and gradually both eyes go blind. Sometimes, it may be combined with external causes, and there will be redness and pain. If it is due to internal deficiency, the essence should be supplemented.”
Note: At the initial stage of internal obstruction, the eyes seem normal, but when seeing things, there are often colorful flowers floating, and the vision is dim and unclear, as if in thick smoke. There is a faint film-like appearance in the pupil, and gradually it loses its radiance. The color of the pupil may turn yellow, white, green, blue, black, dark, or reddish. Over time, it becomes the symptoms of the five wind internal obstruction diseases. For Yellow Wind, at the beginning, it is night blindness, and over time, it turns yellow, and even golden yellow, which is a difficult-to-treat condition. For Green Wind, at the beginning, white and red flowers can be seen in front of the eyes sometimes, there is dizziness, pain in the two sides of the forehead, beside the nose, and it pulls the two eyes. Over time, the pupil turns light green like white. For Black Wind, at the beginning, it is the same as Green Wind, but black flowers can be seen sometimes, and over time, the pupil turns dark black. For Dark Wind, at the beginning, it is also the same as Green Wind, but there is headache without dizziness, and dark flowers can be seen in front of the eyes, and over time, the pupil turns dark with a reddish tint. For Blue Wind, at the beginning, it is the same as Dark Wind, there is dizziness but no pain, and blue flowers can be seen in front of the eyes, and over time, the pupil turns blue. The sources of the five wind diseases are as follows: Yellow Wind is related to the Spleen Meridian, Green Wind is related to the Lung Meridian, Black Wind is related to the Kidney Meridian, Dark Wind is related to the Heart Meridian, and Blue Wind is related to the Liver Meridian. However, there are five types of wind diseases, and the causes of their diseases are twofold. One is external causes, which must be due to headache caused by wind. The pain affects the eyes and attacks the brain. The brain fat and heat combine with the pathogen and are injected downwards into the eyes, resulting in sudden blindness of both eyes. The other is internal causes, which must be due to internal injury of the internal organs, and the essence qi cannot be injected into the eyes. It may first affect the left eye and then the right eye, or first affect the right eye and then the left eye. The disease spreads between the two eyes, and both eyes are damaged. External cause symptoms belong to excess conditions, and often accompanied by redness and pain. Internal cause symptoms belong to deficiency conditions, and often without redness and pain.

Medical Cases
[Case 1]: Mr. Liu, 62 years old, from Zhucheng, Shandong Province, lived in Pingtung. He suffered from an eye disease with unclear vision for several months. After being examined in the hospital, it was diagnosed as cataract. On June 21, the 58th year of the Republic of China, he asked for diagnosis and treatment.
