Fever refers to an abnormal increase in body temperature, which is one of the common symptoms in pediatrics, and the child’s thermoregulatory center is not yet mature, and it is very susceptible to sudden changes in body temperature due to external factors, if not treated in time, it often induces convulsions, convulsions, and damage to the nervous system. Prolonged fever will have a negative impact on children’s regulatory function and physical and mental health, so symptomatic treatment should be given to children with fever as soon as possible to make the fever and related symptoms subside as soon as possible. At present, antibacterial, antiviral and other drug treatments are mostly given in clinical practice, although certain curative effects can be obtained, but because the various systems of the pediatric body are not fully developed, it is easy to cause various adverse reactions and damage to various organs of the body.

Founded by Li Daozheng, the Li’s Tou Hu Fu Copper Head Gua Sha Therapy System adheres to the principle of “taking Tong as a supplement, taking Tong as a laxative, taking Tong as a cure, and taking Tong as a health”, including eight core theories, with the characteristics of non-invasive and few contraindications, and a wide range of clinical syndrome differentiation and treatment. Recently, the author used Li’s Tou method Tiger Fu Copper Tou Gua Sha to treat a child with fever, and achieved satisfactory results, which are shared as follows.

The child was a male, 6 years and 3 months. He was presented on February 20, 2024 with “fever for 1 day”. The day before the visit, the child had a fever in the afternoon due to excessive consumption of dumplings and chicken, a body temperature of 39 °C at night, no runny nose, no cough, abdominal heat and pain, unresolved stool, vomiting once, vomit was indigestible food, did not want to eat, irritability and sleeplessness, yellow complexion, red tongue, thick yellow greasy, purple fingerprints, abdominal distension and refusal to press.

Diagnosis: Fever (pulmonary and gastric heat syndrome).

Treatment: Eliminate food and guide stagnation, promote lung and intestines.

Conditioning plan: 1. Scrape the lung meridians, pericardial meridians, large intestine meridians, and three focal meridians of both upper limbs to promote the lungs and intestines, clear the upper scorching heat, and regulate the airway and waterway. 2. Scrape the skull base bone in, focus on blowing the wind pool, wind house, and slowly scrape through the vertebral artery and bilateral carotid artery. 3. Open four acupoints: Dazhu, Dazhu, Shentang, and Anointment (Dazhu Xuanlung, Dazhu nourishes blood, anoints Yin, and Shentang calms the nerves). Kaiyang Pulse: The Du Pulse and Bladder Meridian are the sea of the Yang, promoting the circulation of Zhou Qi and blood. Scrape through the Du pulse, bladder meridian and spine points. 4. Scrape the stomach and gallbladder meridians. Focus on scraping the foot three miles, the lower foot three miles, the upper giant void, the lower giant void, and the gallbladder acupoints, so as to draw qi down and help the stomach qi to fall. Focus on the treatment of wind pools, wind houses, wind gates, large vertebrae, shoulder wells, lung Yu, Qi Ze, Qu Chi, Lao Gong, Zu Sanli, Xia Zu Sanli, Shang Ju Xu, and Xia Ju Xu. After 4 hours of gua sha, the parents reported that the body temperature dropped, 37.6 °C, no vomiting, abdominal distension was relieved, and the stool was once, and the child was advised to drink more water to avoid wind and cold.

Second diagnosis on February 21: the family complained that the child could sleep at night, no more fever, no vomiting, no abdominal distention, and the symptoms basically disappeared. The child is instructed to eat light, soft, and easily digestible food.

On February 22, the third diagnosis showed that the child was in good spirits, could sleep, had no fever, no abdominal distention, no vomiting, and the symptoms disappeared.

Fever is a common condition in children. Wang Kentang, a physician in the Ming Dynasty, said: “Children’s diseases are mostly hot.” Zhu Danxi put forward in “The Treatise on Gezhiyu”: “All children are sick and hot. “It can occur at any age and in any season. Children’s viscera is delicate, the shape and qi are not filled, the spleen and stomach are weak, the spleen is often insufficient, and the children’s diet is not self-controlled, so the milk factor is easy to hurt the child. Milk food stops gathering in the middle of the coke, accumulates but does not dissolve, qi stagnation does not work, and it turns into heat over time. It is considered that the child in this case suffered from excessive consumption of thick and greasy products, damaged the spleen and stomach, dereliction of duty, abnormal function of spleen and stomach, and weak transportation, resulting in intestinal stagnation, depression and fire, and thus fever.

The key acupuncture points of the large vertebral and lung Yu have the functions of promoting the lungs, clearing the heat and desolving the surface, and activating the meridians; Quchi is the meridian acupoint of the large intestine of Hand Yangming, which has the functions of dispelling wind and clearing heat, clearing channels and relieving pain, and reducing stomach reversal; Qi Ze is the meridian acupoint of the hand Taiyin and lungs, which has the effects of suppressing lung qi, clearing the lungs and relieving cough, and reducing stomach inversion; The upper giant void and the lower giant void both belong to the Zuyang Ming stomach meridian, the upper giant void is the lower acupoint of the large intestine, which has the function of circulating qi and stomach, dissolving stagnation and warming the stomach, and soothing the meridian and regulating qi, and the lower giant void is the acupoint of the small intestine, which has the effect of regulating the spleen and stomach; Zusanli is the combined acupoint of the stomach meridian of Zuyangming, the acupoint under the stomach, and the lower Zusanli acupoint (Li Daozheng’s experience acupoint) has the effect of strengthening the spleen and stomach, regulating the middle and regulating qi, guiding stagnation and channeling, and strengthening the body. The shoulder well acupoint is located in the Zushaoyang gallbladder meridian, which is the intersection point of Zushaoyang, Zuyangming, and Yangwei veins, and has the effect of promoting qi and blood, relieving surface sweating, and passing qi. The use of Li’s head method tiger charm copper head scraping to achieve the effect of promoting the lungs and intestines, promoting qi stagnation, eliminating food and guiding stagnation, restoring the six intestines to use the work, stomach and body health, then the depression and heat subside.
