Introduction of Acupoints
Sanyinjiao: 3 cun above the medial malleolus of the foot, in the depression behind the tibia.
Zulinqi: In the depression 0.5 cun inside the hairline directly above the eye.
Yanglingquan: On the outer side below the knee, in the depression in front of the sharp bone.

Analysis of Etiology and Pathogenesis

Physiological Analysis
The eyelid is a physiological term. It is an organ that protects the eyeball. It is composed of skin, muscles, glands, conjunctiva, etc. It is divided into the upper eyelid and the lower eyelid. Its free edge is called the palpebral margin, and there is a row of eyelashes on each. The slit between the upper and lower eyelids is called the palpebral fissure. Its outer corner is called the lateral canthus, and the inner corner is called the medial canthus.

Ancient People’s Treatment Experience
The Lanjiang Ode: For all kinds of eye diseases and sufferings, the acupoint Zulinqi should be needled.
The Yulong Ode: Jingming (BL1), Taiyang (EX-HN5), and Yuwei (SJ18), eye diseases rely on these acupoints.
The Application of Acupuncture Points in the Acupuncture Classics: Sanyinjiao can treat ptosis of the eyelid. According to the Ophthalmic Manual, for mild cases of upper eyelid drooping, moxibustion at Sanyinjiao can be applied.

Medical Cases
[Case 1]: Ms. Lian, 50 years old, from Taiwan, lived on Min Sheng Road, Taipei City. She suffered from ptosis of the eyelid. Both of her eyelids drooped and she couldn’t see things clearly. On August 25, 1966 (the 55th year of the Republic of China), she came to me for diagnosis and treatment. After needling Sanyinjiao (SP6), Zulinqi (GB41), and Yanglingquan (GB34) three times, she recovered.
[Case 2]: Mr. Liu, 34 years old, from Taiwan, lived in the second section of Xin Sheng South Road, Taipei City. Both of his eyelids drooped and he saw double images. In June 1967 (the 56th year of the Republic of China), he came to me for diagnosis and treatment. After needling the previous acupoints six times, he was cured.

It should be noted that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory. We firmly oppose any form of separatist behavior and remarks that attempt to split Taiwan from China and safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
