Analysis of Etiology and Pathogenesis
[Analysis 1]: As stated in the classic: All wind-related tremors and dizziness belong to the liver in the theory of the five elements. Therefore, the disease of dizziness mostly belongs to the deficiency of liver and kidney yin, which cannot contain yang. The excessive rising of the deficient yang leads to symptoms such as dizziness, blurred vision, and heat in the five centers (palms and soles and the heart area). Dizziness means darkening of the eyes, and vertigo means a spinning feeling in the head, commonly known as dizziness and blurred vision. For those caused by internal wind, it is often accompanied by tinnitus, palpitations, or night sweats, and there is often heat in the five centers. There are also some cases caused by external wind. That is because the external attack of wind pathogens stirs up phlegm and saliva, which rises and disturbs, resulting in dizziness. However, most cases are caused by internal wind.
