Analysis of Etiology and Pathology
[Analysis 1]: According to the Golden Mirror, it is noted that when a child has a shaking tongue in the mouth due to heat, it is because there is heat in the heart and spleen, resulting in parched lips, a dry tongue, restlessness due to heat, and foul stools. In severe cases, the tongue extends outside the mouth and keeps shaking without the ability to control it.

Ancient People’s Treatment Experience
In surgical literature, it is noted that this condition is caused by the excessive fire of the heart and spleen, which is stagnated and blocked by external cold. It leads to swelling and pain in the throat, blockage of phlegm and saliva, hoarseness, difficulty in speaking, the tongue extending and not retracting, constantly shaking, a feeling of swelling and stuffiness in the tongue, and a constant desire to touch the tongue with the hand. This is called tongue playing. Urgently prick the Shaoshang acupoint. If there is blood, the patient can survive; if there is no blood, the patient will die.
The Miscellaneous Diseases Song in the Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion: Shousanli can treat the condition of the tongue shaking as if dancing. When this disease first starts, the whole body has a fever, the tongue swells and extends outside the mouth, and keeps shaking.

He was restless and uneasy. After more than a month, he came to me for diagnosis and treatment. After pricking Shousanli, Guanchong, and Shaochong and letting out blood, he was cured.
