[Analysis 1]: According to the New Compilation of Effective Prescriptions: Toothache has many causes. There are toothaches due to yin deficiency, toothaches due to wind-fire, toothaches caused by tooth decay, carbuncles at the root of the teeth, rotting of the tooth roots, pus oozing from the interdental spaces, bleeding from the interdental spaces, gradual growth of fleshy polyps at the tooth roots, wind-heat steaming upward, tooth swelling and headache, and rotting of the tooth roots. Medical Cases
[Case 1]: Mr. Li is from Anhui Province and works in Shezai, Taipei County, Taiwan Province. His wife, 29 years old, suffered from numbness of the tooth roots. Suddenly, the gums became dislodged and all the teeth were in danger of falling off. Both traditional Chinese medicine doctors and Western medicine doctors were at a loss. Introduced by Mr. Shi, at 12:30 a.m. on January 9, 1963 (the fifty-second year of the Republic of China), she came to my clinic on the third section of Xinyi Road, Taipei City, knocking on the door to seek treatment. After diagnosis, it was found to be dislocation of the tooth roots due to stroke. If not treated urgently, all the teeth in the mouth would surely fall off. Immediately, the acupoints of Hegu, Xiaguan, Taixi, Jiache, etc. were pricked. After pricking five times successively, all the teeth returned to normal and she was cured.
[Case 2]: Ms. Wang Xufen, 40 years old, from Jiangsu Province, lives on Fushan Road, Muzha District, Taipei City. She suffered from dislocation of the tooth roots, and all the teeth in her mouth were separated from the tooth roots and were about to fall off. Fortunately, introduced by Mr. Wu, on May 4, 1970 (the fifty-ninth year of the Republic of China), she asked me to diagnose and treat her. After pricking the above-mentioned acupoints four times, she was cured.
