Shangyang
Introduction of Acupoints
Shangyang: Located on the inner side of the index finger of the hand, at a distance from the corner of the fingernail as wide as a chive leaf.
Shaoshang: Located on the inner side of the thumb of the hand, at a distance from the corner of the fingernail as wide as a chive leaf. If there are red spots in the center of the chest (the area of the heart 窝), prick them open with a triangular needle and the condition will be relieved.
Analysis of Etiology and Pathology
[Analysis 1]: According to the annotation in the Golden Mirror: This condition is caused by excessive rich and greasy food, resulting in the accumulation of heat in the lungs and stomach. Then, it is attacked by wind pathogens. The wind and heat combine and rush upward to congest the throat, causing swelling, pain, difficulty in making a sound, and inability to swallow soup or water. The sound of the blocked phlegm and saliva is quite like the sound of sawing. It breaks out suddenly and rapidly at the beginning. Urgently prick the Shaoshang acupoint on the inner side of the thumb of the hand to let out purple and black blood to purge the heat. If there is an immediate effect, it is a favorable sign. If the face turns blue, the lips turn black, and there is a cold nasal discharge, it is an unfavorable sign. If there is also swelling encircling the outside of the neck, it is called encircling throat wind. Although the treatment method is the same as that for this condition, it is still a dangerous and difficult-to-treat disease.
